Fitness is our Business!
Deer Lake has devoted our fitness area to Free Weights, Circuit Training and Cardiovascular Training equipment. With your membership we also offer cycle and aerobic classes.
Advanced Aqua Aerobics- A more intense workout compared to Aqua Aerobics (See below). Plan to swim laps.
A Little Bit Of Everything- (ALBOE) Cardio, yoga, strength & core work. Literally… a little bit of everything.
Aqua Aerobics- A gentle workout using the water as your resistance. Great for anyone suffering from joint pain.
Aqua Deep– Improve your endurance in deep water with zero impact.
Aqua Yoga– Strengthen & balance your body while in the tranquility of the water. Class is held in the soft water pool.
Aqua Zumba– Latin inspired fitness class modified for the water.
Bootcamp– A whole body workout using a combination of HIIT, strength training and athletic drills. All skill levels are welcome, though everyone is expected to be in generally good physical condition. Class will be held on the tennis courts, in the aerobics room and/or outside.
Cardio, Core and More– A combination of light muscle conditioning and cardio. Recommended for all fitness levels.
Chair Fitness– Seated strength & mobility exercises which emphasize continuous, rhythmic movements proceeding from smaller to larger ranges of motion. Class is held on the racquetball courts.
Cycle– A heart pumping 55 minute session of endurance & strength training on a stationary bike. All levels welcome.
Gentle Yoga– Enjoy hatha yoga at a slower, more restorative pace. Great for those just beginning a routine.
Hand & Foot– MELT Method, a breakthrough self-treatment system that restores the body’s connective tissue to eliminate chronic pain, improve performance and decrease accumulated stress caused by repetitive postures and movements of everyday living. MELT is for ANYONE who wants to improve flexibility, joint mobility, alignment, posture and overall well-being! All equipment is provided in class.
Hatha– An easy to learn, moderate pace of yoga poses focusing on breathing & posture. Pose modifications give participants the option to make each position more challenging or simpler, making this class perfect for all fitness levels.
Kickboxing– An energizing workout that implements moves from boxing and kickboxing. Breakdowns of kicks, punches and high intensity combos are taught safely and effectively for all fitness levels.
Pilates- Focuses on the core (abdominals & lower back) & helps to promote flexibility & develop leaner looking muscles.
Power Yoga– Fast paced form of yoga where each move flows into the next, making it an intense aerobic workout.
Slow Flow- Slow paced sequence of poses that gives attention to deepening the stretch & stamina of each pose.
Tai Chi- An ancient Chinese tradition that, today, is practiced as a graceful form of exercise. It involves a series of movements performed in a slow, focused manner and accompanied by deep breathing. Perfect for any age and activity level.
Vinyasa- An intermediate/advanced form of yoga focused on coordination of breath & continual, fluid movement.
Zumba Gold- Based on the same dance moves used in the original Zumba class, but less intense, with dance routines designed for beginners & older adults using modified movements.
*All classes are 55 minutes, unless otherwise stated in the description.
**Group fitness classes are cancelled on New Year’s Day, Easter, Mother’s Day, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Day and as needed in extreme weather conditions. Please check your emails and Facebook page for updated class cancellations.
